A New Chapter for The Media Stack: Introducing Paid Subscriptions
The Media Stack is launching a subscription service for more in-depth coverage and analysis.
Two months ago, I launched The Media Stack to explore the business of publishing and the forces reshaping our industry. Since then, I’ve been sharing insights, frameworks, and reflections based on 25 years in digital media—writing the kind of analysis I wished existed when I was leading teams and navigating change.
And here’s the good news: The Media Stack is growing. The feedback has been encouraging, the ideas are getting sharper—and there’s clearly a need for a space like this. But to keep building it properly, and to keep it independent, I’m making a shift.
Starting in June, I’ll be introducing paid subscriptions alongside free content
That means:
Most issues will remain free, as they are now.
But certain content—especially deeper analysis, exclusive insights from industry events like Cannes Lions Festival, and others will also be in longer-form articles and this will be reserved for paying subscribers.
Why now?
Because I want to go deeper. And that takes time, energy, and resources. This summer I’m attending Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity , The Audiencers’ festival, Media Voices Publisher Summit and SXSW London with press accreditation, and I’ll be covering all of these events through a business/media lens. This is exactly the kind of high-value content that will sit behind the paywall.
If you’ve found The Media Stack valuable so far, I’d love your support as a Founding Member.
Here’s the deal:
£5/month or £50/year. - Less than the price of a Starbucks coffee a month!
Founding Members who join before July 1st will get a special thank-you in the newsletter and access to the full Cannes Lions Intelligence Report coming late June.
Prices will go up later this year as I build out more features for subscribers.
This is the beginning of something bigger—and your support helps shape what it becomes.
Thanks for reading, for sharing, and for believing that thoughtful, independent commentary still matters.
Let’s keep building.
