The Media Stack members get two free nights at the FIPP Congress hotel in Madrid
Buy a Congress pass with the code FIPPSTACK and stay two nights at the Hotel RIU Plaza España, 50 rooms reserved, 13–15 October
The FIPP World Media Congress marks its 101st year this October in Madrid, and The Media Stack will be there as the Congress’s sole media partner. This is our first partnership with FIPP, and readers get something concrete out of it: a Congress pass booked with the code FIPPSTACK comes with two free nights at the Hotel RIU Plaza España, the Congress venue itself.
FIPP Congress runs from 13 to 15 October under the banner “FIPP 101: The Fundamentals of Media’s Future”, a programme built around what comes next, after a centenary year spent celebrating the first hundred. Organised with WAN-IFRA and Spain’s ARI, the Congress expects more than 500 delegates from over 40 countries. For three days, most of the international publishing industry is in one building.
Goli Sheikholeslami, CEO of POLITICO, and Laura Williamson, Editor-in-Chief of The Athletic, headline the programme. Others presenting include DPG Media’s Christian Van Thillo, Harvard Business Review’s Erika Heilman, TED’s Cyndi Stivers and DIE ZEIT’s Dr Rainer Esser, with more than 50 speakers confirmed and additions still to come.
Between them they run some of the most closely watched subscription, sports and B2B media businesses in the world, and the questions they will be answering are the ones The Media Stack exists to cover: AI licensing, the collapse of search referrals, what replaces the traffic economy.

The offer
Congress organisers have reserved 50 rooms at the Hotel RIU Plaza España for the Tuesday and Wednesday nights of Congress week. Book a pass using the code FIPPSTACK and both nights are free whether you are a FIPP or WAN-IFRA member or not.
The passes:
FIPP/WAN-IFRA members: €1,500
Non-members: €2,000
To put that in context: the standard member pass alone is currently €1,490, rising to €1,690 at final pricing. With this offer, roughly the same money buys the pass plus two nights in the building where the Congress is happening. No taxis, no 7am walk across Madrid, and the conversations that matter tend to happen in the venue bar after the sessions.
Fifty rooms will not last. Book at fippcongress.com with the code FIPPSTACK.
Please note our booking system does not allow for separate confirmations, so if you use the code will get a room confirmation within 3 business days directly from the hotel.
The Media Stack will be reporting from Madrid throughout Congress week: interviews, session coverage and analysis, here and on themediastack.co.uk. If you are attending and want to talk, get in touch.
